Thursday 13th November 2014, day 5 of Incognito Germany/Switzerland tour

Picture from Leverkusener Jazztage 35. Sunday 9th November 2014

So last week we completed six shows at Ronnie Scott's London... and then pretty much went straight to Heathrow Airport to arrive in Germany for a six night tour (see events page). Our first stop was Leverkusen to play for our third year in a row (I think I've played 5 times in total with Incognito now) but this time ending the Sunday night rather than the Saturday night. As usual, a cracking smiling crowd who have travelled from all over for the festival were there to support us.

Next stop was a return to Aschaffenburg to play at the iconic Colos-saal. Once again many good friends and supporters were there. There's something about that venue that I can't quite put my finger on, but let's say that it's as if we're ALL on stage, the band AND the audience! That was defintely a fun night.

And then there was Fabrik, Hamburg! Maybe my 4th or 5th time there with Incognito but I really think this was my favourite night there. We were particularly energised from the previous nights of gigging and the audience were amazing. There were many people to meet once we came off stage.

Last night we played in Lörrach, which I'd not previously heard of, but this town boasts a gorgeous (new?) venue named Burghof. It's a very modern, well equipped and spacious building, it actually was reminiscent of venues I've played at in Japan. The audience again were full of energy during and after the show.

Today we will travel to Switzerland to play Kulturfabrik Kofmehl in Solothurn followed by Kauflueten in Zurich to end the tour. Next week we will travel to Spain for the Cartagena Jazz Festival FH
