July 20th 2017: Japan DJ sets complete • Citrus Sun/Thames River Soul Japan tour begins 🇯🇵✈️🎼

Wednesday night/Thursday am here in Japan. Bluey and I have just completed two DJ sets in Japan, returning to Cafe 104.5 Tokyo and Brooklyn Parlor in Osaka. It may be our fourth time in Cafe 104.5 (?) but we've only played once at Brooklyn Parlor Osaka and that was a few years ago now. Still great to see so many familiar faces. These venues are not clubs; they are intimate venues and cafes and bookstores and music stores and bars all at the same time. I can't think of a direct european version (there may well be some) but this format definitely works in Japan and I'm honoured to be invited to return to these places in Japan to DJ every year.

The rest of my Citrus Sun/Thames River Soul compadres have now arrived in Nagoya for our shows at the Blue Note so a busy day tomorrow as we have to catch another Shinkansen in the morning and pretty much go straight to sound check.

As I mentioned in my previous blog, Joy Rose is making her first appearance with Citrus Sun and will also be singing the Thames River Soul material. Unfortunately we will miss Jim Mullen who couldn't travel with us but we're still intent on making it a party for you.

This tour coincides with the release of out Thames River Soul Volume One EP in Japan on P-Vine records. FH
